Are shinigami eyes (Death Note) active all the time?
I’m writing a Death Note fanfic about BB (who was born with shinigami eyes) and I was wondering if you have to activate the shinigami eyes, or if they replace your real eyes and you see every person’s life span unconsciously for the rest of your life span. Are they like the Sharingan, or are they like the eye of Yakumo in Psychic Detective Yakumo?
It is mentioned that BB wears contacts not to cover his shinigami eyes, but to imitate L.
I know in the live action movie Misa had to activate the eyes (or they implied that she activate them) when she looked at L’s real name, and then they went back to normal. But in the anime, even though their eyes look normal, Mikami and Misa are still seeing Death dates.

I think they’re active all the time. In ep 15, when light introduced L to misa, misa was a bit confused cuz she can see L’s real name but her eyes didn’t change color, right? So that kinda means that she didn’t have to activate em cuz they’re already activated… I really suck at explaining things but i hope you got what i meant..

Well, i know a few, but right now all i can think of is Onegai Twins(Please Twins). But you can always go to this website animefreak.tv you can search for the kind of anime you like by their genres i.e comedy, romance, horror, action etc. I’ll let you know more if i remember the kind of anime you listed that i know.
Here are the list:
-Clannad
It’s a romance comedy anime, but some part are quite sad. I even cried
-Clannad After Story
It’s a continuous from the first season. It’s also sad like the first season, and also of course ROMANCE! There’s also OVA of Clannad.
-Onegai Teacher
It’s about a highschool student who was suppose to be 18 years old, but due to his sickness which caused him into some kind of deep coma and stop him from aging for three years. He then moved to a new school and met a teacher who is in fact an alien and they fell in love(well, they fall in love after they were married)
-Onegai Twins(Please Twins)
It’s not a continuous of Onegai Techer, but it has some characters from the first serie. Somewhere at the end is quite sad
-Omamori Himari
it’s 18+ but it’s quite good. It’s funny and a bit of romance. I think. Also there’s Ecchi in it as well.
